Doing what you LOVE

I've had great responses to my first post and am keen to start writing on the 'Myth that Love is' very soon. It's my first LOVE study topic.

So my friend Mark said today he particularly liked in my initial post that I said "I was doing what I love".. rather than doing what I thought was interesting or what people might expect etc. It reminded me to share this with you.

I found this great manifesto just before Christmas on a site for TOMS shoes - One For One Movement - A Pair Of New Shoes Is Given To A Child In Need With Every Pair Purchased - TOMS.com

TOMS is an inspiring company I came across last year - It gives a pair of shoes to children in need with every new pair of shoes they sell. Anyway this manifesto is theirs - so thanks - it's awesome. The absolute passion of this company and it's founder Blake Mycoskie just zings off their pages.

This is one of my favourite lines from it - so perfect.

If you are looking for the love of your life; stop.
They will be waiting for you when start doing things you love.

Today was a good day. I only did things I love - all day. Lucky me.

Year of Love!!

Oh la la l'amour!!

This is so exciting!! I've wanted my own blog site for ages and ages but wanted it to be original, interesting, witty, not-thought-to-be-copying-Carrie-Bradshaw, not going on and on about being single, designer-y, smart, unpretentious, la la la .. all these things I didn't want this blog to be, have stopped me ever starting it!!

Well well, what would you know -I had already declared 2011 the year of doing what I want to do 'thank you very much' (much inspired recently by Eat, Pray, Love) and I want to do this, so if it's not original, interesting, designer-y, smart, witty enough etc, so be it.

The other issue is the TOPIC. I've been looking for a topic interesting enough and compelling enough to have me feel like writing something about it every day!!

Travelling seems a good enough reason/topic, food & cooking - definately, babies and motherhood seem to be good, sex, singledom and dating is ok (if you are Carrie Bradshaw), and as I'm not a) travelling, b) cooking, c) a mum or d) Carrie Bradshaw, I was stuck.

Till last night (post conversation with darling friend) I decided I'm creating 2011 as "A Year of Love" - and then voila!

LOVE is a GREAT blog topic, one I know so much about and so little about and want to study and study and learn so much more about. And it's so me..

And you may just learn something along the way too dear reader, whoo hoo what a bonus!
